“The parents are tested” only becomes useful when you know what was tested, how and what the results mean for this particular pairing. Ask to see original reports for both parents.
Different tests answer different questions
A DNA test normally detects a known variant; “clear” does not mean free of every inherited disease. A healthy carrier can sometimes be paired responsibly with a tested-clear mate. Hips, elbows, eyes and heart may require imaging or examination under an official scheme instead.
Assess the whole breeding decision
Match identification numbers, dates and official grading, and ask why the pair was chosen. Crossbreeds are not automatically free of inherited conditions. Stable temperament, healthy conformation, family history and careful rearing matter alongside laboratory results.
