Character and activity

Dragon Li cats are described as alert, athletic and loyal to familiar people. They can be more independent than breeds selected strongly for constant company. Provide long climbing routes, daily hunting games and a quiet place where contact is never forced. Good early socialisation is important for visitors, carriers and veterinary care. Assess the individual kitten because a breed name or origin cannot guarantee character.

Care and identity

The dense short coat is maintained easily through weekly brushing. Check teeth, ears, nails and weight and offer safe outdoor stimulation in a run or secured balcony. An ordinary brown tabby can look very similar. The population outside China is tiny. Without a verifiable pedigree and registration, the Dragon Li label is not credible.

Health and choosing a breeder

Reliable European figures for breed-specific disease are unavailable. That makes open family records more important, not less. Ask about import documents, relationships, longevity and heart, kidney, eye and joint disease across several generations. Parents need clinical examination and line-specific heart, eye or DNA tests should be discussed. Choose a breeder who can document genetic spread and welfare and distrust scarcity used as a sales argument.
